Texas Longhorns Update Jersey Design for 2026 Season

The Texas Longhorns are making a subtle yet significant change to their football jersey design for the 2026 season. This update was hinted at by athletics director Chris Del Conte during his annual town hall meeting earlier this year. The Longhorns have decided to move the SEC patch to the collar of their jerseys, a shift that reflects their commitment to maintaining a clean and classic look while embracing their new conference affiliation. Previously, the SEC logo was located on the right side of the jersey, opposite the Nike logo, but it will now be positioned on the left side. This change comes after the removal of the Longhorn logo from the center of the collar several years ago. Fans of the burnt orange and white can appreciate that the new design will not feature commercial logos, unlike some other programs. Del Conte emphasized this point by questioning the need for commercial branding on jerseys, highlighting the Longhorns' focus on tradition and identity. As the Texas Longhorns prepare for the upcoming season, this jersey update signifies their ongoing evolution within the competitive landscape of college football.
