Texas Longhorns have secured a commitment from three-star offensive tackle Lucas Rhoa, a key addition to their 2027 recruiting class.
Lucas Rhoa made his final official visit to Texas over the weekend after seeing Oregon, Penn State, and UCLA, and was put on the phone with former offensive lineman Kelvin Banks by Texas offensive line coach Kyle Flood.
The staff's efforts paid off, as Rhoa announced his commitment to Texas on Thursday, becoming the fourth offensive line commitment for the 2027 cycle.
Rhoa's commitment is significant, as he brings valuable roster flexibility, with the size to remain outside at tackle, the physicality to play inside at guard, and the movement ability to play center.
At 6'5 and 305 pounds, Rhoa has the potential to provide a drive-blocking presence and flashes occasional sudden power upon engagement.
The Longhorns are still pursuing five-star offensive tackle Ismael Camara, and are reportedly in the driver's seat of that recruitment, with their 2027 recruiting class now ranked No. 6 nationally.
Texas is set to face Texas State Bobcats on 2026-09-05, and with Rhoa on board, they will look to build on their momentum.
Rhoa is ranked as the No. 612 player nationally and the No. 54 offensive tackle, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
The Longhorns' recruiting class now has 18 pledges, with Rhoa joining four-star offensive tackle Brian Swanson, three-star interior offensive lineman Kenyon Hemphill-Woods, and three-star interior offensive lineman Jackson Cook.
