Texas Longhorns Celebrate 5th Directors’ Cup Win as Top Program

The Texas Longhorns have achieved a remarkable milestone by winning their fifth Directors’ Cup, solidifying their reputation as one of the premier athletic programs in the nation. This victory comes after an impressive showing across various sports, particularly highlighted by their success in track and field, where they excelled at the outdoor championships in Eugene, Oregon. The Longhorns have consistently finished in the top three in over six sports, demonstrating their all-around athletic prowess. The 2025–26 season has been particularly fruitful, with the baseball team still competing in the College World Series, having advanced past Oregon in the Super Regional Round. Texas edged out Stanford for the Directors’ Cup title, thanks to stellar performances from athletes like Kendrick Smallwood, who earned a silver medal in the 110-meter hurdles. Additionally, the rowing team secured its fourth national championship in six years, and the softball team won back-to-back national titles. The Longhorns' dominance extended to swimming, where they claimed three national championships, showcasing the depth of talent within the program. The impressive achievements across 21 sports reflect the dedication of athletic director Chris Del Conte and highlight the Texas Longhorns' commitment to excellence in college athletics.
